Faculty Achievement
- Dr. Gem Cherian and Dr. Neethu Mary Tomy were awarded PhD on 29-07-2020 and 13-11-2020 respectively.
- Dr. Gem Cherian got recognised as a research guide under M.G University, Kottayam on 10 February 2024.
- Mr. Paul Jacob received the award for the Best Associate Naval Officer (ANO) in 2020.
- Executed 3 minor research projects with funding support from UGC.
- Dr. Neethu Mary Tomy got recognised as a research guide under M.G University, Kottayam on 14 October 2024.
- Dr. Paul Jacob was awarded PhD from LPU, Punjab on 11-03-25.
- Sub Lt. Justin J Thomas successfully completed 75 days of Pre Commission Military Training at the NCC Officers Training Academy, Nagpur and was appointed as the Associate NCC Officer in the rank of Sub Lieutenant.

- Mr. Sanath N S of III BA English participated in the Republic Day Camp held at New Delhi.
- Mr. Alex S Mathew of II BA English secured first prize in A D Shroff Memorial Elocution Competition and Secured second prize in National Youth Day Elocution Day contest conducted by District Collectorate Alappuzha and SVEEP.
- Anujith S of II BA English participated in University level Adventure Camp at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Arts and Science, Idukki.
- Mr. Arjun S Anilkumar of II BA English participated in PRD Camp organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Regional Director of NSS Bangalore and Davangere University.
- Arun Sankar, Sharan R & Abin Robin presented a paper on “Performativity and Liminality in Vettakkorumakan Ritual Tradition Practiced in Kerala”, at the bilingual international seminar on folk cultures organized by the School of Letters, Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam on 24th October 2024.
- Sharan R, presented a paper on The Evolving Narrative: Social Media, Videos, and Cinema at the one-day online conference on Digital Storytelling and New Media Formats, organized by the media club on 23rd January, 2025.
- Sharan R & Karthika Babukuttan presented a paper on Exploring the Narrative Perspectives in Chekhov’s “The Chameleon: and Analytical Study “at the Anton Chekhov Festival organized by the Honorary Consulate of the Russian Federation Thiruvananthapuram in association with the IQAC, Departments of English & Malayalam, GOVT. College for Women, Thiruvananthapuram on 28th January 2025.
- Mr. Alex S (I B.A English) secured ‘A’ Grade for elocution (Malayalam) in MGU Youth Festival 24-25.
- Mr. Jojo Mathew secured Second Prize in the intercollegiate Malayalam Elocution Competition held at Assumption College, Changanacherry on 11th December 2019.
- 16 students of our department participated in the ‘Youth Parliament Competition’ conducted on 21st December 2019, by the Institute of Parliamentary Affairs (INPA), Trivandrum. The college won second prize in the state-wide competition.
- Mr. Ambady Suresh (2014-17) became the record holder of “Most Punches on Wooden Board with Both Hands in 30 seconds” in the International Book of Records (August 2021).
- Ms. Mary Claudia was selected as Aloysian Exemplar (2023-24).
- Mr. Alex S (I B.A English) qualified K-TET.
- Mr. Adithyan P (II B.A English) participated in the Republic Day parade held at New Delhi on 26.1.24.
- Mr. Arjun V (I B.A. English) secured ‘A’ Grade for folk dance in MGU Youth Festival 22-23.
- Ms. Nandana Ajayakumar (III B.A. English) secured ‘A’ Grade for poetry recitation (Malayalam) in MGU Youth Festival 23-24.
- Mr. Alex S (I B.A English) secured ‘A’ Grade for elocution (Malayalam) in MGU Youth Festival 23-24.
- Mr. Arjun V (II B.A English) participated in the 27th National Youth Festival of NSS held at Nasik, Maharashtra from 12 to 16 January 2024.
Department Achievements
- 16 students of our department participated in the ‘Youth Parliament Competition’ conducted on 21st December 2019, by the Institute of Parliamentary Affairs (INPA), Trivandrum. The college won second prize in the state-wide competition. Our faculty members Ms. Gem Cherian, Mr. Justin J. Thomas, Ms. Cibyna Thomas and Ms. Sherin Elizabeth George gave training and leadership to the students.
