Introduction & Objectives
The Aloysian Study Centre, located in St Aloysius College, Edathua is an academic institution dedicated to the comprehensive study and development of the Kuttanadu region. Known for its unique geographical features, Kuttanadu is a low-lying region in Kerala, India, often referred to as the “Rice Bowl of Kerala” due to its extensive paddy fields. This region, lying below sea level, presents a distinctive ecosystem and set of challenges that are of great interest to researchers and academics.
The Centre was established with the aim of fostering a deeper understanding of Kuttanadu’s ecological, social, and economic dynamics.
